Update: Senate Set to Vote at Noon
Today, the Senate is scheduled to vote on a procedural motion to fund the government through February 8. The three-week continuing appropriations resolution (CR) would amend the four-week proposal — which includes a six-year extension of the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), delays several Obamacare tax provisions and authorizes the SBA to shift funding to administer increased 7(a) loan demand — passed by the House last Thursday. If the Senate votes to proceed and passes the CR, the measure would go back to the House for approval. If passed by the House, it would go directly to the President for signature. As a reminder, both the motion to proceed and the amended CR require 60 votes in the Senate.
